The members widely appreciated the Talent Show of the Middle Group and the Sitar Vadan by Pundit Subhendra Rao. 1. The school calendar for the session 2012-13 was discussed and approved by the members. 2. The members felt the need to give more stress on English Grammar through written and on-line tests, quizzes and other useful activities. 3. The Principal requested the parents not to entertain children for joining tuition classes which goes against the established rules of the school. In case any help is required for any child, the parents may inform the same to the school. The school has provision for remedial classes for such children. 4. The Principal requested the parents to see that children come to school neatly dressed up and in proper uniform. 5. It was decided that during winter, girls will use woolen stockings. 6. Parents should see girl students must not use any cosmetics, mehendi or ornaments in school. Boys must have regular and proper hair cut. 7. The parents were requested to send freshly cooked food packed in cloth instead of fast food and packed food along with a fruit. 8. The Principal informed the members that the students are getting adequate exposure by the press. It was agreed upon by the members to make the subscription of NIE and the school magazine compulsory for the session 2012-13. 9. Inspite of informing many a times, parents are still request to take the children home (on non-medical grounds) during school hours which disturbs the normal working of the school. Hence once again it in requested that no parent should approach the school for the above purpose. 10. The members appreciated the use of SMART Class and suggested a little more utilization of the same. 11. On the request of the children from Classes VI – VIII, it has been decided to conduct Talent Show for them from academic session 2012-13 onwards. 12. Parents brought to the notice about the late arrival of the buses and suggested that adequate and stable staff should be maintained in the transport department. 13. The parents agreed to the 10% fee hike for the coming academic session. They deeply appreciated the hard work and commitment of the teachers and suggested that the management should suitably hike the salary of the teachers to maintain their stability and enthusiasm. The CBSE result of Classes X and XII for the session 2010-11 was shared with the members. A special reference was made about two students scoring 100% marks in Mathematics and Computer Science in XII Grade. The members expressed happiness on the same. 2. It was brought to the notice of the PTC members about the strength of the school which has gone up by about 100 students. 3. The construction of the approach road to school has started and is likely to be completed soon. 4. The school fee will be hiked by 10% from the coming academic session 2012-13 (subject to the approval of SMC.) 5. An additional driver will be appointed for the smooth functioning of the transport system. 6. The members were informed about the usage of Smart Class and Online Test being conducted in the school. 7. One teacher each for English Communication and Aerobics has been appointed. 8. The PTC members expressed their concern over the completion of syllabus on time and the pace of teaching in some classes in some subjects before the 1st term examination. Minutes :
1. The Principal welcomed the members of PTC and apprised them about the progress of the school.
2. The Pro Vice Chairman apprised the members about approach road to school. The matter has already been discussed with Member of Parliament, he has promised to help. The construction work will start soon with the help of other property holders of this area.
3. To reduce the travel time it has been decided that the buses will not enter the narrow lanes, members were informed about one new bus being inducted from 1st April 2011.
4. The term of Prof. S. P. Singh is getting over on 31.03.2011 as the Parent Representative of Classes XI and XII and SMC. Principal thanked him for his valuable support to the school. He will continue to be a member of SMC. Mr. Sandip Jhavery was unanimously elected as the Parent Representative of SMC, in place of Prof. S. P. Singh. Dr. Rahul Kundu and Mr. Sandip Jhavery will be the parent representatives in SMC.
5. Principal requested the parents to ensure that : a) The children come neat and clean to the school. c) No cosmetics, mehendi etc to be used by girls. d) Electronic gadgets like mobile phones, i-pods etc not to be brought by the students to the school. A circular for the same will be sent to the parents.
6. Summer Camp will be held in second week of May. Many new activities have been planned. Some experts for these activities will be called from outside on payment basis. The experts’ fee will be paid by the students. The details will be sent to the parents.
7. Attempts will be made to improve Grammar and Spoken English.
8. Number of educational trips will be increased.
9. One Smart Class has been set up in the school for the students of Classes 1 to 12. It was inaugurated by Prof. S. P. Singh. A short demonstration was given by the teachers.

Minutes : 1. The Principal welcomed the members and apprised them about the progress of the school. The following points were discussed in the meeting:
2. Musical play-Harmony : The parents congratulated the school management and staff for successfully organizing the thought provoking musical play ‘Harmony’ for the students o Classes I to V.
The unruly behaviour of some of the parents during the programme was not liked. It was decided that now onwards student volunteers will ensure proper seating arrangement, no eatables, no movement etc,
3. School timings and school calendar : 3.1 It was decided to reschedule the school timings broadly as follows –
a) Classes for students of grade IV to XII to start at 7:15 a.m. instead of 7:00 a.m. Their dispersal from school to be earlier by 10 to 15 minutes in place of 1:30 p.m. b) Simultaneously, the school timings for students upto Class II to be reduced by about half an hour. c) Some holidays to be converted into working days for students upto Class II, as an outcome of this change in timings.
3.2 Parents also suggested that some holidays like Dusherra break, Janmashtmai break may be curtailed for all classes while planning the school calendar in the coming session to make up for the changed timings.
4. Transport : School will have regular experienced drivers and proper supervisors for smooth functioning of the transport.
5. Approach Road to school : There is a
possibility of a road being built by government in near future, it was
decided that the school would undertake the repairing of the existing road
and its extension towards Christ College. This will be done from the school
budget and the parents will not be charged. 6. Revision in evaluation system upto Grade V: To encourage the creativity of the students and ease the pressure of formal evaluation, it was decided to extend the existing policy of ‘no formal evaluation’ upto Grade V instead of upto Grade III. However, Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation will take place regularly and parents will receive detailed report of the same at the end of the term.
7. Reminders to be sent to parents: It was decided to send circulars once again to parents reminding them i) to send books as per the time table to reduce load of bag(from Grade III to XII), ii) to send students to school in proper uniform as per school policy, iii) not to send packet food and to encourage healthy eating practices.
8. Online test and smart classroom : Parents were informed that online tests for Classes IX and X had already begun and the same will be conducted for students upto Class III in a phased manner. Moreover, the school will have a ‘Smart Classroom’ very soon.

Minutes :
1. The Principal welcomed the members and discussed the progress of the school.
2. Email ID : As discussed in one of the previous meetings, the PTC members have been sent Email Ids of all the parents of the school which they may forward to other parents on request.
3. Pre Board Exam : Pre-Board Exam will be conducted for Class XII students from 16th December 2010. Syllabus for Class XII will be completed by 6th December 2010. The students will have study break till the commencement of 1st Pre-Board Exam. The 1st Pre-Board Exam result will be analyzed, remedial action will be taken and 2nd Pre-Board will be conducted thereafter.
4. Science Exhibition : Science Exhibition will be held on 27th November 2010 for Classes VI to XII. Mr. Vajubhai Vala has consented to be the Chief Guest. Invitation will be sent to parents. All students will be shown all models and projects exhibited.
5. Musical Play ‘Harmony’: Musical Play ‘Harmony’ will be organized for students upto Class V in December / January.
6. Achievement in sports: The school Cricket and Basketball team reached upto the semi-final level for the first time in Inter-DPS and Inter-CBSE competitions respectively. The process of formation of Basketball and Cricket teams for Classes VI to VIII is on. However, it was a matter of concern that the sports students were not staying back for the sports practice after school hours, so parents were requested to send children regularly for the same.
7. Competitive Exam : It was decided that the information about months in which the competitive exams will be held for the year, should be given to parents in April itself. The same to be put on website too. Detailed circular about fees etc. to be given to parents before these exams.
8 Change in school timing : In order to streamline the arrival of the buses of second route, it was decided to start the school 15 minutes earlier, i.e. at 7:00 a.m. instead of 7:15 a.m. and the bus timings of the first route to be adjusted accordingly. The new timings to be implemented upto 24th December 2010 and future course of action to be decided thereafter.
9. Approach road to school : It was decided to make a proper budget estimate for the construction of the approach road to the school and the appropriate Government authorities to be convinced to release a part of the money. The parents may be asked to contribute Rs. 500/- per child and the rest to be put in by the school. The final decision will be taken in the next meeting.
10. General Knowledge and English Speaking : More General Knowledge Quizzes, JAM Sessions etc. to be organized for students upto grade V for improving General Knowledge and Speaking skills. A schedule to be made for the same. The students to be motivated to speak in English through various activities.
11. Online Test : Parents were informed about online tests on each subject to be introduced for the students of Classes VI to X starting from December.
12. Fee Structure 2011-12 : The PTC members were the apprised of the fee of structure for Academic Session 2011-12 with 10% hike than the current session, to meet the growing requirements of the school. The same has been approved by School Management Committee in its meeting held on 13.05.2010 in DPS Society Office. The revised fee structure will be posted on the website.
13. Regular Coaching : The members were informed that the school provides extra coaching in cricket, basketball, skating, T.T., sitar etc. They were requested to disseminate this information to other parents.

1. Class X and XII result : The parents were apprised about the result of Class X and XII. The Principal appreciated the role of parents and teachers in the excellent result.
2. Coaching for Competitive Exams : Parents were also informed that the school was in the process of tying up with the ‘Dedicated Academy’, which has many centres, for coaching of Class XII students for Competitive Exams after school hours.
3. Academic Plan for Class X and XII : a. Assessment Test for Classes X and XII will be conducted from 21st June 2010.
b Extra Classes will be made compulsory for weak students, as and when required.
4. Canteen : The parents wanted, especially students upto Grade II, to be encouraged more to eat vegetables in the canteen. The Principal advised the parents to encourage fresh food and fruits, dependence on fast food to be discouraged.
5. Creative writing: The parents appreciated the Holiday H.W. of English which motivated the students to think and write creatively.
6. Infrastructure and other facilities: a. Transport:The Principal informed the parents that one new bus has been added to the fleet of its own buses and all safety norms are being followed. However, with the increased strength little over crowding will continue.
b Music Department : Mirrors have been fixed in dance room and new instruments and cupboards for instruments have been added to Music Room.
c Library : More books have been added to the school library.
7. Activities of the school : Parents were informed about Summer Camp, Scholar Certificate Distribution, NCC and other activities of the school.
8. Community Service Club : Parents were apprised that 4 new sewing machines have been purchased by the Community Service Club. The housekeeping staff is being trained to use the same. It will be distributed to them once they are trained in their use. The funds were collected by students and teachers.
9. Burden of bags : Upto Classes II, the school is following ‘Bag Free Education’. However for other classes, parents were requested to send books as per timetable only, in order to reduce the burden of bag.
10. Uniform : a Parents were requested to send the students neatly dressed in proper uniform. Some students were still wearing the very old uniform, which should discontinue.
b Parents of girl students were requested not to apply mehendi on their hands.
c Boys should not be sent to school with fancy haircuts or long hair.
11. Early taking : Though this has considerably reduced, however parents are still approaching school authorities to send/take their child early from school. They were requested not to do so, as no child will be sent during school hours.
12. Communication with school : Parents were requested to communicate with the school through the school almanac and go through the almanac regularly and acknowledge the remarks sent by the teachers in the same. 13. Personality Development and English Speaking Programme: Representatives of a group called ‘Promise’ that conducts Personality Development and English Speaking workshops for students after charging specified amount of fee, interacted with the parents regarding their programme and activities. It was decided that the group will conduct demonstration of their activities in some of the classes and parents will be invited to see the same. If it is found suitable for the students, it will be implemented after consulting the parents.

Minutes : 1. The Principal welcomed the parents and introduced the new Parent Representative, Ms. Sheetal Faldu (Classes 1 and 2) who has joined in place of Mr. E. Mohanraj.
2. Dr. Rahul Kundu was unanimously elected as the Parent Representative for the School Managing Committee. He will be the 2nd Parent Representative, in addition to Prof. S. P. Singh.
3.a The Principal apprised the parents that action had been taken on all points discussed in the previous meeting except that of Email Id.
b Email ID : The Email Id of parents will be put on the website once the new admissions are finalized.
4.a General Knowledge : Parents suggested that activities related to General Knowledge should be done on routine basis in class. Principal requested the parents also to provide inputs at home.
b Newspaper in Education (NIE) : It was decided that NIE (Newspaper in Education, The Times of India) will be made compulsory for all students in this session to improve reading habits and General Knowledge of students. Parents were requested to encourage the children to read news paper on regular basis.
5. Coaching : The parents requested the Principal to work out the possibility of arranging extra classes for IIT / Medical Coaching. The Principal assured them to look into it. He, however, requested the parents also to explore such possibilities.

Minutes : The Principal welcomed the parents and appreciated their support and suggestions for the development of the school. He informed the members that Board Practical Exams of Class XII are going on and extra classes are being conducted for students whose performance is not upto the mark. On behalf of all the members, he conveyed best wishes for future to Mr. E. Mohanraj Parent Rep. who will be leaving Rajkot due to his transfer.
The parents unanimously expressed their happiness over the progress of the school and the efforts of the management and the teachers in the all round development of the students.
Decisions taken :
1. Reading Habits : To encourage and inculcate reading habits in students. Parents agreed to subscribe NIE - The Times of India supplement.
2. Science Exhibition was highly appreciated however; parents suggested that it should be conducted for more days. Other schools should also be invited to visit the exhibition. Exposure of the projects may also be provided to all the students.
3. The number of Group Discussions and presentations which are being held in the school could be increased especially for Senior Classes to shed their inhibitions of communicating in English effectively.
4. Events like Grand Parents’ Day which are being conducted in Pre-Primary Classes should also be conducted at senior level to inculcate respect for elders. Guest Speaker Programmes for value education should be conducted more frequently.
5. Some parents wanted to have a one to one meeting with teachers. The Principal informed that parents may write in the almanac and seek an appointment with the teacher for the same as per the schedule mentioned in the almanac.
6. Sports Day was highly appreciated. It was suggested that more number of students should take part in it.
7. Email addresses of the parents of a class should be made available to the whole class.
8. Parents felt that the good work done by the school should be spread in the society through advertisement and presentation at suitable locations in the city.
9. A brief profile of the faculty should be available at Neptune Tower, in case there is an admission inquiry.
10. Frequency of serving Gujarati food to be increased in canteen. Parents should have the option of paying canteen fees on yearly basis.
11. Pre-Nursery, Nursery and Prep classes will be held at Neptune Tower from April 2010.
12 The parents should not call the teachers directly on their phone numbers unless, there is an emergency. They should use almanac to convey their messages.
13 Uniform : The quality of school uniform is expected to improve in the new session as only branded cloth will be used. This may however, add to the cost of the uniform. The uniform of Pre Primary section may be changed in the new session. Parents are expected to purchase new uniform.
14 Attendance in PTMs was low, parents are requested to be regular in PTMs.
15 Parents should not approach the school authorities to take the child early for social reasons as it is against the school policy.
16 Parents of senior students are requested to ensure that the child comes to school in time as some students were found coming in second route with Pre Primary children.
17 Food : No junk or packet food should be sent to the school. Freshly cooked home food packed in a cloth is advisable and healthier for the child.
18 Fees : The fees will be increased by 10% in the new academic session 2010-2011 as per the circular sent to the parents earlier. The same has been posted on the website too.
Rs. 25 and Rs. 10 per day will be charged as late fees for non-payment of school and transport fees respectively in the new session.
Circular will be sent to the parents of fees defaulters to pay the fees before the commencement of the annual exams.
19 Annual Magazine will be distributed to all the students and they will be charged for the same.
CD’s of Cultural Programmes and Talent Shows were also not taken up by the parents, after being ordered. Circular to be sent again in this regard.
